Driver settings control what your drivers see and can do on the mobile app, from navigation and notifications through to proof of delivery and route permissions.
Where to find Driver App settings
- Go to Settings in the left-hand menu.
- Under Driver App, you will see the driver-specific settings
Navigation App
The Navigation App setting chooses which mapping app drivers use for turn‑by‑turn directions when they start a route.
- You can set one default app for all drivers: Google Maps, Waze, or Apple Maps.
- Drivers will open this app automatically when they start navigation from the mobile app.
- You can change this setting at any time if your team prefers a different navigation app.
Driver Notifications
Driver Notifications control which push notifications are sent to drivers’ phones. Notifications are off by default and can be turned on individually.
You can:
- Notify drivers when a route is sent to their phone.
- Notify drivers when a route is edited after it has been dispatched.
- Notify drivers when a customer adds or updates a note on the tracking page.
- Notify drivers when an admin sends them a chat message.
For a full walkthrough focused on notifications, including examples of when each one is useful, see the dedicated guide: How to Enable Driver Push Notifications
Driver Permissions
Driver Permissions decide what drivers are allowed to do inside the mobile app and how strictly they must follow the planned route.
- Allow drivers to create and edit routes, or set them to Read‑Only so they can only follow routes assigned by an admin.
- Decide whether drivers must complete stops in sequence or if they can complete any order.
- Allow drivers to partially complete an order at the point of delivery.
- Set when drivers have access to assigned routes, for example only once routes are sent to drivers.
- Require GPS to be enabled on the driver’s device before they can start a route.
Scanning
Scanning settings control how and when drivers scan barcodes as part of their workflow.
- Ask drivers to scan a barcode when loading goods into the vehicle before starting a route.
- Ask drivers to scan a barcode when a delivery is dropped off at its destination.
- Decide whether scanning should happen per order or for each individual line item on an order.
These options help you track exactly what was loaded and delivered, and at what point in the route.
Proof of Delivery
Proof of Delivery settings define which actions must be completed before a driver can mark a job as done.
You can require:
- GPS enabled to confirm the driver’s location.
- A photo of the delivery.
- A scan of a barcode at the point of delivery.
- A signature captured on the device.
- Mandatory photo for proof of failure
Each option can be turned on or off, so you can combine the requirements that make sense for your business.
