SmartRoutes is a route planning & optimization platform that has developed leading edge technology for the rapidly expanding last mile logistics sector.

Based in the middle of Cork City, we have experienced rapid growth over the past 3 years and are now searching for an Android Software Developer to join our growing team and help build the next evolution of our software product.

About the Role:

We're hiring for an Android Software Developer on our product team at SmartRoutes.

Responsibilities:

• Continued development and maintenance of our Android software stack to support our client applications and integrations.
• Working closely with the Tech. Lead and Software Development team to build new product features.
• Take ownership of the android development and focus on building out quality software.

What we are looking for:

• A Computer Science degree or similar education.
• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with Kotlin, Java & working with the ADK.
• Knowledge and experience with OOP principles
• Understanding of architecture of mobile applications, common patterns and design.
• Familiar with software design patterns and ability to apply them practically.
• Experience delivering Mobile UI & UX.
• Ensuring the codebase is clean, scalable and tested.
• Experience converting Figma (or similar design UI tools) designs to functional apps and components.
• Comfortable using a Git workflow
• You’re familiar with utilising development tools & debug tools.

Coding Requirements:

• Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines
• Be capable and confident in dealing with Android Architecture Components
• Design & develop against RESTful web services
• Experience with ROOM & SQLite Databases
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications

Useful Skills:

• IOS Development
• Comfortable or familiar with Linux systems
• AWS or similar experience
• Experience with NodeJS
