Business Development Representative

SmartRoutes is a route planning & optimization platform that has developed leading edge technology for the rapidly expanding last mile logistics sector.

Based in the middle of Cork City, we have experienced 5x growth in the previous year alone and are now searching for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing team and help nurture the sales pipeline with opportunities from across the globe.

In this role you will be instrumental in establishing a new function within the company and will play a key role in the future of SmartRoutes.

About the Role:

We’re looking for someone who is customer focused, keen to join a growing start-up at the ground level, and who can understand and clarify a prospect’s needs and desired outcomes.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing outbound leads to feed into our sales pipeline
  • Identifying the right leads at the right companies by using prospecting tools and outbound calling techniques
  • Working closely with sales, marketing and management team to feed back information from our target markets
  • Meet and exceed monthly targets by scheduling highly qualified meetings for our sales team
  • Keeping up to date with the latest industry news in the logistics space and other relevant industries
  • Updating our CRM to make sure all information is available to assist our sales process

Desired qualifications/skills:

  • Min 1 years experience in business development role is essential
  • Fluent written and verbal skills in English
  • Sales experience in a technology/consultancy company is a bonus
  • Ability to work in high-energy sales team environment as a team player
  • Positive and energetic phone skills, excellent listening skills and strong writing skills
  • You exhibit qualities of overachievement, self-motivation, good teamwork, and positive outlook
  • Quick and efficient with a computer
